Privacy Policy

RentAlert notifies you when new apartment rental listings in Latvia match criteria you have saved. This policy explains what the service collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. RentAlert is operated by Roberts Brants, Latvia. For anything in this policy, contact robertsunbrants@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account details from Google Sign-In. When you sign in, Google gives us your email address, first and last name, and profile picture URL. Signing in with Google is the only way to use RentAlert. We never see or store your Google password.
• The filters you save. The search criteria you choose — district, sub-district, rooms, price, area, house type and series — and whether you turned on email or push notifications for each.
• A push notification token. Only if you enable push notifications. This is an identifier issued by Apple for your device, used solely to deliver your alerts.
• A record of alerts already sent. Which listings we have already notified you about, so the same listing is not sent twice.

What we do not collect

No payment details, no location data, and no advertising or analytics trackers — the app contains no third-party analytics or advertising software of any kind. We do not track your browsing, build advertising profiles, or sell or rent your data to anyone.

How we use it

• To sign you in and keep you signed in.
• To match newly published listings against the filters you saved.
• To send you the email and push alerts you asked for.

Under the GDPR, we rely on performance of a contract for providing the service itself, and on your consent for sending notifications. You can withdraw that consent at any time by turning notifications off on a filter, or by deleting the filter.

Where listing data comes from

Listings are gathered from the public classifieds website ss.com. RentAlert does not host listings, broker rentals, handle payments, or put you in contact with landlords. Opening a listing takes you to ss.com, which is an independent site with its own privacy policy. We do not send ss.com any information about you.

Who else processes your data

• Google — sign-in, and delivery of notification emails.
• Apple — delivery of push notifications to your device.
• Amazon Web Services — hosting. Our server and database are located in the EU (Stockholm).

How long we keep it

Your account, filters and alert history are kept until you ask us to delete your account. Push notification tokens are removed when you sign out, or automatically once Apple reports that a token is no longer valid.

Your rights

Because RentAlert serves users in the EU, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email robertsunbrants@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in Latvia this is the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside the app: open the Account tab and choose Delete my account. This removes your account, your saved filters, your alert history and any push notification tokens immediately, and it cannot be undone.

Children

RentAlert is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app.
